Bike riding and school fete’s

On the weekend I did two things that I don’t normally do – I went cycling along a bike track beside the Brisbane River and went to the Sacred Heart School Fete.

On Saturday I woke-up and felt like doing something new. I’ve been procrastinating about wanting to get a little healthier (I haven’t been going to the gym lately because of work plus it’s been pretty cold for Brissy over the past few weeks… which makes sitting at home rugged-up watching movies and drinking coffee a lot more appealing). So hiring a bike and going for a ride seemed like a good thing to do.

We went to our good friends (and client of mine) Riverlife at the base of the Kangaroo Point cliffs and rented a couple of bikes. We followed the bike track from the cliffs, along through Southbank as far as the Grammar School and then turned-around and went as far as we could in the other direction which took us under the Story Bridge.

The ride lasted about an hour and a half, so by that stage my legs were sore and my butt even more-so – but other than the crippling pain, it was really fun.

On Sunday we went to Caleb’s school fete which was as good as a primary school fete can get… there were rides, a sweet stall full of sugary goodness donated by many Mum’s and all the other things that go into making a school fete.

Kristy and Caleb stayed the whole day but I had to pop-off and catch-up on some work-related stuff… but otherwise it was a really good weekend.
